yes, you are on Brian & Sarie's blog, I know you might have been thrown off by the three posts in only half a month. Don't worry I'm sure we'll get right back on schedule with about 1 a month soon, since we just started Widow Season #1 for the year. But for mean time I wanted to post some evidence that we do actually see each other ... every once in a while. :)

My family spent the weekend in St George. We thought it would be fun to hang out in a warm place for a few days. It was really nice to be away from the norm. We didn't really do a whole lot, which was PERFECT. Life isn't as wussy as a football game there are no timeouts, no media stoppages, no back-up players when you're not at the top of your game, and no water boys. Life at our home is BUSY and we wouldn't have it any other way. So, every once in a while it's nice to take a break and just be together.

I could sit at my kitchen table and look out at the beautiful grass for hours! It's such a great sight. I do have a little bit left, but not much. Can't wait until Spring when it is all green and gorgeous.

Christmas Love!

I think the best part about Christmas this year was getting to spend a lot of quality time with my little ones! Brian and I took off on Friday and spent some time shopping in P.C., then spent the night in the same hotel we did the night we got married. (and that was just the beginning of the weekend.) We spent Sat afternoon with B's fam since his brother came into town from CA. After that we tried to pull everything together we would need for the next few days and headed to my parents house to spend Christmas Eve with them. The brohas and I had a good time and we opened up some fun presents; finally we feel asleep.

Christmas was pretty chill this year, we woke up, went to church, came home to brunch, and then opened a few more presents before taking off to WY. What's in WY you wonder? Don't feel bad we are still wondering that same thing. JK, kinda -- there's almost nothing there. Brian's cousins live up there, so we went to spend a couple of days with the Evanston Crew. Abbie loved her first road trip and couldn't get enough of playing in the snow. However, she didn't so much love the 4-point deer that tried to get in a tussle with her in the backyard. Even though she looks big she is pretty much a total sissy. The Abbster and I went on some fun walks Monday morning while everyone else slept away the sunrise. (Apparently staying up until 2 is some excuse to sleep in ... who knew?) We made it back home late Monday night.

I can't even remember much of what we did all of the long weekend, but I know it was fabulous. Now, I'm looking forward to more fun this week with my fam!

I'm a couple of weeks late, but I'm going with it's better late than never on this one.

Brian Warren just had a birthday the end of August.

We celebrated by going to two of his favorite restaurants, Red Lobster and Tucanos. We had a fun night out on Saturday with a couple of our friends, Dave and Annita. I unfortunately had to ditch out a few minutes early to get to my game on time, but still had plenty of time to enjoy some yummy salmon--My favorite! Brian also had salmon and shrimp. I love watching him eat at the R.L. because he claims to hate seafood ... that's my Brian for you.

On his actual birthday his family came over to the cottage along with a couple of his best friends and their families. Yes, that's right, families. I guess you know you are getting old when your friends start having kids on purpose. :) We had, at Brian's request, ice cream and cake--German chocolate and rocky road.

Monday night we went with my whole family to Tucanos and had a blast! Lots and lots of good food, as always. Then headed back to the cottage just in time to get in a little R&R before bed. That was the end of a 3 day celebration for the husby.

So over a month ago now, Brian's family got together for family pics! We had so much fun taking all these pictures. Seriously, it was hilarious! I laughed so hard I cried ... 3 separate times! It was lots of fun to all be together hanging out. Even though a few people thought the colors were a pain to find for everyone and weren't quite sure about it, I think my idea worked out pretty well. And, we even got a few cool pictures!

When we said jump apparently we scared the little brothers. hehe.

I will miss carting my wash across the cities to do it at their house, but I think I will recover from the sadness.

to be completely in love with something that hasn't YET done anything good for you???

YES, yes it is. I'm so thrilled with my new little garden, even though it's just freshly planted and a ways away from producing edible products--I LOVE it.
I've spent several hours on a few different Saturdays getting this little guy ready for planting. Yesterday, I was finally able to get the plants I have ready into the ground! (Green beans and sweet peppers and zucchini still to come.)

I could just sit on the patio and watch it grow for hours! I can't wait until it grows some more and actually looks legit. I will post more pics in a few weeks! I have a feeling though that we are going to have more food than we will be able to eat. I am excited to have surplus to share! (this might be counting my peppers before they've grown, but I'm ok with that today!)

April Happenings

Now that Brian and I actually go home at night, I started cooking dinner again. Here are a couple of the fun meals we've had lately. I love me some good new recipes to experiment with. (I'll have to post some soon.) (Also, there is a link list on the right to some of the food blogs I frequent, in case I'm not the only one who is in need of some good new ideas.)

Did I also mention I LOVE LOVE LOVE that we have a bbq! There is a chance I might not use the kitchen for anything other than marinading this summer! woot woot.
Brian really wanted to get away after busy season and since we had a FREE 3 night stay in Vegas we headed south for the weekend. My Stephie and her husband Brett and Brother Nate joined us for some good fun. Thursday night (which was also my birthday) we all went out to dinner with Trent (another friend/brother). Friday we did lots of good shopping (well Stephie and I had lots of fun shopping the boys just sat outside the stores chattin it up). Then went to Phantom of the Opera at night. I'll add pictures of that too once Stephie puts them on her blog and I have a chance to steal them :)
This is Brian's idea of "plenty of gas."
I decided that I would start my birthday week by building myself a SWEET AWESOME blue birthday fort in my family room. I used only my blue blankets and sheets to construct the beauty you see below! Happy 23rd Birthday to me.

What I want? I want a 2 year old boy. I would even take a 3 or 4 year old. I love kids at that age. Best ever. What brings this up from the workaholic who loves what she does way too much to give up her career to stay home with her own? Well, tonight I hung out with Isaac, a 2-year old in my ward. His Mom, who is so amazing, invited me over for dinner. Her husband is also a tax accountant, so she decided to get me out of my house for some company. She is heaven sent. We chatted for a while and it was great to get to know her, but her little baby was VERY fussy. I felt so bad for her. She kept apologizing, I thought maybe I should leave so she didn't feel so bad, but selfishly, I was loving not being home alone all night.

Since I decided to stay, I thought I would see if I could help in some way. I ended up just playing with Isaac for an hour or so while she tried to put the little one to sleep upstairs. Oh man, did we have some ridiculous fun! He had such a funny giggle and warmed right up that it was no problem playing around their family room.
We laugh.
We read.
We played trains.
We built a tunnel.
We played tag.
We played peek a boo through diaper boxes.
I tickled him and ate his toes.
He tackled me and made a pillow pile on me.

Then her husband came home (to some strange girl he'd never seen before crawling around his family room with a diaper box on her head. Great first impression right. ha. awesome.) and since I know how excited I would be if Bri showed up before 1 or 2 a.m. on a Friday night, or any night for that matter, I quickly left so they could spend time as a family. It wasn't until I was walking home that I realized how lonely I am. Being the wife of an accountant this time of year isn't fun. Not even a little bit. It does make me appreciate Sundays and the 15 minutes we spend together in the mornings like never before, but still I feel like a widow during the week. Luckily, I am pretty independent and enjoy being home, so I can usually stay possitive about hanging out with myself in the cottage night after night. (Don't get me wrong when I have the choice I would always choose to have him home too.) Anyhow, I try to keep myself as busy as possible, but there are only so many things you can do alone.

Which brings me back to what I want. A little boy. I wish there was some program where you could rent a kid for a couple of months and then take it back. Some little creature to play games with and make you laugh and remind you how fun little things can be. I swear I am just a little kid at heart because I have soooo much fun playing "kid" games. I've been searching amazon and google, but no kids for rent are coming up. grrr. I've been told you can buy and return anything at walmart. I'll have to put that to the test and check it out tomorrow. hahahaha. Can you imagine a ball cage full of kids waiting to be picked. hehe--funny mental image. For now it looks like there is no hope on this. dang. :)

Here's to 4 more days until March 15th and only 38 more until April 18th (the personal tax day this year)!!! Here's to pretending life is lovely in the mean time. :)

We Believe

Still not being able to move around too much without feeling pain I decided to spend my morning watching Mormon Messages. I had no idea how many there are. Nor did I know how powerful they would be. I couldn't help but want to keep these messages in a place where I can watch them again.

Brian and I don't often post on here about what we believe in, or why we choose to live the way we do. We individually have testimonies of Christ, and together have been sealed in his holy temple, so that we can be together forever. There is no greater joy and happiness in this life then to learn of Christ, follow Christ, and become like Christ.

I've watched this now several times. It's amazing.

The answer is yes. Everyday.

This is what we believe. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the light in our lives.

I wish I was better at showing my love. Assume the good and doubt the bad.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho

You know there is something wrong when the wife of a tax accountant is working later than her husband in February. :) Brian was promoted this year and it seems to be keeping him much busier. He doesn't get home until 11 or 11:30 most nights. Since we both worked super late on Valentine's day we celebrated early on Saturday at Tucanos. It was a nice night out, and great that we were able to see each other, coherent, for more than 15 minutes.

Writing in the name of love:
I love that Brian works very hard to support our little family
I love that Brian is very dedicated in his church service and to helping others
I love that Brian is easy going, he tries to ease my stress, but even when that doesn't work he brings balance to the stress level in our cottage.
I love that Brian likes to have fun. We had a great ski/shopping day last Saturday. Even though neither of those things are right up his alley he still had fun with me!
I love that Brian unintentionally is always pushing me to be a better person.
I love that Brian is genuine. He doesn't say things he doesn't mean. And, he doesn't say mean things.
I love that I get to live with him all by myself! a little selfish, maybe, but hey that's why I married him.

I would like to introduce you to our pet bear, we used to have a puppy, but then this bear ate her, so we kept the bear in memory. She doesn't realize how big and strong she is, we are working on that. She stands on all fours bigger than some of the children who play behind the yard. She wants to play too, but usually ends tackling them on accident and then I have to bring her home. But for some reason they always come back to play with her again. She must have killed their brain cells when she knocked them over the first time.

Did I mention she is also a total poser!

She is also a very corrupt guard bear, she takes bribes from the bunny, Coffee Bean. The bean pays Abbie (most likely in veggies) to knock her cage forward, so she can jump out and then the bunny and the bear play together. That lasts for a while until the bunny gets tired and wants to relax under the porch steps where, unfortunately, the bear doesn't fit.

Other random news:

Brian has survived his first 6 weeks of braces. He claims he likes to constant gentle pull because it helps keep him awake at work. However, he isn't a fan of the food that likes to hide behind the brackets and wires.

Brian (and Jason) FINALLY finished getting the fan/light installed in our family room. It's looks about a million and a half times better than the ugly tiny black box that has been dangling there for the last 6 months! We've had fun spending time with Jason, who just returned home from Memphis, TN. Where he's been busting hoods for the last 2 years. He is great to have around.

Cottage Tour

I would like to personally invite you to the first official tour of the Prete Cottage. In July Brian and I moved into our cottage. I've been a SERIOUS SLACKER at taking any pictures. So, this tour has two purposes; the first being Annita, and the second insurance.

Please don't be overwhelmed by the mass amount of decorating and things adorning all the walls, I just have too much free time on my hands. hehehe :)

I think I have officially blogged more this month than the rest of the months combined! haha. I'm sure after things stop happening again in Jan. I'll go back to normal.

My work had an interesting party this year. The food was ok. Then for the entertainment we did doTERRA's got talent. There were actually quite a few good acts (I was impressed more than once, and I'm kinda hard to impress). Then of course you've got your can't-be-serious-about-anything group. Featured below. The Hallelujah Angels seriously struggled, but that was part of what made it SO funny. Poor old execs didn't have time to practice (like they were busy working or something)!

The Gathering

Brian's work had their annual Christmas dinner at the Stein Erickson Lodge in Park City, UT. It was a pretty sweet place, and the food was really good (all until the punk waiter stole my food before I was done and ran off with it...seriously. Maybe you shouldn't have given our table food last if you wanted us to be done faster!). Brian enjoyed chatting with his buddies the whole time. Especially the ones that don't actually work there yet. Weird right. Apparently accounting firms sign people on two years before they even graduate! Personally, I don't think I would show up to a company party if I hadn't even started working there yet, but that's just me.

Then they had a pianist play, he was pretty good. He talked way too much, but what can ya do. At the end he played my favorite hymn, which might have made the whole thing worth it.

As soon as the partner was done closing the event I darted out, so we wouldn't have to wait in a long line of peeps who were waiting for the three valet guys to bring their cars back (what can I say, I just don't like to wait in lines). On top of the fact that I really wanted to get out of there before the storm got any worse. (believe me I was already stressed we stayed that long, since it had been snowing pretty hard non stop since we got there. luckily the snow was light, there was just a lot of it.) By the time we got home I was so dizzy from driving into the white flakes for an hour and a half.

Fantastic Home Experience

Family Home Evening is a good title as well, I just think sometimes FHE is a little cooler than that.

Jonathan, Lauren, and Michaelle joined us for a fun night. We had a good dinner (I tired a new recipe, which I was a little nervous about because there was a LOT of mustard in it, but it didn't even taste like it after it baked!). Lauren MADE a key lime pie that was DELISH! I almost ate two pieces, but Bri gave me the you-don't-need-those-calories look, so I savored the one!

Then Jonathon gave us an awesome Christmas message. We sang, we prayed, and we played!

Sometimes, ok a lot of the time, I feel like FHE with just two of us isn't legit. Mostly, because we have family night all the time since it's just us at home. It was so nice to feel like it was a special evening.

Brian LOVED hanging out with Michaelle, who is super smiley and talkative. It was fun to watch her (from a distance that is).

Did you know there are people who have never had a massage from a m.t. before? I figured there were a few here and there who had never experienced this, but I had no idea I was married to one of these people! Well yesterday we fixed this. I'm pretty sure he loved it because he didn't stop talking about it all night! :)

After the massages we went to eat and planned to go look at the lights on T Square, but it was so crowded and my stomach has been eating me alive lately, which doesn't feel good, so we went to home depot instead to buy a tree. We set up the tree in it's stand, no decorations yet, and moved the furniture in our family room to accommodate the tree. Then we decided to relax a little more and watched eclipse. According to Bri this is the best Twilight movie so far, he made sure he got it from red box that morning before they ran out. :) On that movie note Friday night I watched Knight and Day. I really liked it, and I don't like killing movies usually.

Anywho, we had a very enjoyable weekend. Here's to what looks to be another good week ahead!

This Thanksgiving, and inevitably Christmas also, I am going to demonstrate how I can get my exceptionally large feet into my even bigger mouth. (Quote borrowed from Chandler Bing)

Last year I teased Brian that he has such a lame, boring desk job because he had to work the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was still in school at the time and spent my weeks with my family enjoying many fantastic days off!

Thanksgiving week my uncle comes from CA and we all enjoy several pre-TG days this week hunting. Obviously, since I am writing this I am not out enjoying my morning hiking in the snow. Isn't having a job great!? It turns out that I am the one with the lame, boring desk job because I will be working both weeks and Brian has lots of PTO that he is going to use to enjoy his holidays. As much as I love my job, I am pretty bummed, to say the least, that I wont be getting to hang out with my family everyday this week.

On Saturday night we went to the RSL game! Brian got free tickets for a suite from his work--we love free tickets!!! I was mostly just excited to go to the game, but even cooler that they are going to feed us. Well when we got there it turns out the suite was basically at half field. Our seats were AWESOME! Some guys and their wives from Bri's work were there as well, which worked out perfect because I got to enjoy watching to game while Chatty Cathy (brian) talked to the guy next to him about a bunch of other dumb sports the whole time. I still don't understand why they were wasting their time with stats no one cares about from sports the world deemed sub-par, while they had the opportunity to watch the greatest sport ever! To each his own I guess. Anywho the game was intense and Real played great. We have a kick-butt team this year. They ended up winning 2-0. That's right a shut out for a team with a 22 or something like that unbeaten streak. Keeping our home unbeaten streak alive! Also, a shout out for our keeper - he's only allowed 18 goals all season! INCREDIBLE the next closest is 7 away. Saturday he showed off his skills with a couple of sweet saves. I had a blast! I think Brian had fun too, I'm not sure.

I am sad I don't have any pictures, but if you had to hear "oh another picture, I hate pictures" or some complaining EVERY time you wanted to take a picture from your spouse you'd stop taking pictures too. (I am hoping one of these days he will stop being such a punk and just enjoy capturing some fun memories. I only have about 11 pictures of us since we got married over a year ago. Pathetic huh!)

Anyhow, I am so excited for MLS playoffs! Go REAL SALT LAKE! I LOVE that we have a pro soccer team so close. YAY!

Abbie Lynn Prete

I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family. Abbie is our Chesapeake Bay retriever. Brian and I had so much fun taking a little trip to Idaho to get her. Brian was so excited about the trip he had everything ready to go and labeled, when we first talked about the idea he acted as if he wasn't sure about it, then when I thought it would be best to wait he had to come clean and admit he was really looking forward to it ... boys. It was cute.

So, when we got up to the breeder's house I kinda sat back and watched because I wanted to see what B would do. I had a blast watching him pick her out and playing with all the pups. She has been a good puppy from the very beginning. She is very sweet and loves to stretch out and lounge - she will sleep on her back like a human it's hilarious.
She also loves to play and tries to grab anything that moves. She is very attached to us already. She doesn't really like to leave our property and even though she dug herself a hole under our fence she was just sitting on the porch when I got home. Obviously, she is really cute!

Surprise, Happy Birthday, Brian!

That's right I totally surprised Brian with a cool party for his 27th birthday! We had a fun date--macaroni grill and then home to watch a movie, or so Bri thought until he walked in and all his friends were waiting around the corner to celebrate his birthday with him! I couldn't have done it without the help of Caleb and Hayley, who set everything up while we were gone. It was so fun!

Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of Bri with his friends, but I can assure you they were having lots of fun chatting, watching espn, and kicking the girls' butts at catch phrase. We found out that Hilary, brian's friend's wife, doesn't really like to play catch phrase the traditional way, haha it was so entertaining to watch her act out everything. We actually had a lot of fun playing, even though Caleb's scoring was "iffy at best" :).

We had a very busy last few weeks. Traveling around, running, hanging out with friends & family, vacationing, and going to a wedding.

June 18: We drove up to Logan to start our relay race. We ran the wasatch back with some of our best friends. It was so fun! Our team name was run for fun, drill for a thrill. Hayley and Sarie decorated our "van" which added to the excitement.

June 20: Brian flew to Chicago for a work conference. Nothing too fun to write about there. :)

June 24: We met in California for Aaron's wedding. Went to Knotts Berry Farm with the Fam and had fun roller coastering all day!

June 25/26: They had their reception the night before the wedding, then after the wedding they had a fun luncheon on a yacht in the Newport Beach harbor. Again, it was awesome to go to another sealing. Their ceremony from start to finish was 11 minutes! Shortest wedding either of us had ever been to. We had fun spending time with Sarie's family.

June 26: After the luncheon we went back to my uncle's house with his family. It was awesome to spend our vacation with Cal's family. We definitely see more of these coming in the future.
June 28: We went to visit some of our very good friends. We had a great week hanging out, relaxing, watching soccer, chatting, going to movies and a baseball game, golfing, swimming, boating, and playing in the park. We love the Watsons & the Haines; unfortunately, we don't get to see them as much as we'd like because of the distance, but we still have so much fun when we do.

July 2: We headed back to Utah, only to find out when we got to the airport that our plane had been delayed two hours. Which meant we were going to miss our connecting flight and not make it back. The 4th of july weekend is apparently a very busy flying weekend, so the next available flight was Sunday morning, which meant we would miss the stadium of Fire with Brian's family, so we decided to get on the first flight and then hopefully get an a flight from there sometime Saturday. It was definitely a process, but luckily Brian got a hold of a friend who lived about an hour away from the airport. Jared, came and picked us up, fed us, and let us sleep in his home for a night. It was fun to see him and his wife.

July 3: We finally made it back home just in time to get ready and head over the the stadium for a lot of boring stuff and then Carrie Underwood and FIREWORKS. Brian loved hearing Carrie Underwood and Sarie loved the fireworks, so it turned out to be a good event for both of them!

July 4: We pulled off being the most patriotic couple at church! We forgot to take a picture of our cool outfits, but rest assured it was awesome! We spent the rest of the day unpacking and doing laundry to get ready for real life again. :)

B and I had fun at his cousins wedding a couple weeks ago and outside the temple Janice took a few fun pics of us. Since we look so cute, I decided to post them for your viewing pleasure :) haha.
On another note, we had a great experience being at someone else's sealing together. It was great to remember the amazing things that bless our lives inside the temple.

I'd also like to introduce you to the newest member of our not-so-little-anymore family :) (Brian & Sarie + 4 bunnies + 2 cars) This is Torres. He is my new car, obviously right. He is a 2000 hyundai sonata. He was named after one of my favorite liverpool players, who is amazing, and if you look close you'll see a slight resemblance.

So for pretty much my whole life I have been dreaming about the day when I can get a green yellow naped amazon or an African grey parrot. Since Brian didn't grow up with any pets and didn't really like them when I met him, I've been working him into the pet idea slowly. He loved my puppy mandingo and was so sad when she got cancer that took her quickly, he realized how important pets are and wants a dog eventually, which obviously, I fully support. a dog is a must have in my life! Well anyway back to my dream, I decided I would wait until after we had our puppy trained to bring up this dream to him ... turns out I didn't have to be the one to bring it up!

Today we were driving up to Kelly's wedding and out of no where brian says, "we should get a bird."
I thought he was kidding, but then I looked over and he was serious.

Long story short I am stoked about it and I started looking on ksl for a good bird cage and reasonable bird! Ballin'

I totally love pets! and no I don't care if I grow up and I am the "pet lady down the street."

Within 24 hours after arriving in Tennessee I woke up in the night with the stomach flu. It woke me several times during the night and around 5 am I threw up over and over until there was literally nothing left in me :( I spent the rest of the day in bed wishing I wasn't so tired and burning up. The evening wore down and I was resting when Blake said, "something just came for you."
Huh I thought, what would show up at their house for me? I thought maybe they were trying to make me feel better by getting me something ...
but no, even BETTER.
Brian sent me flowers that brightened my otherwise miserable day. He sent them for valentine's, but it was perfect that they showed up today! thanks little one. I love you!

Brian and I got a full day to spend together doing FUN stuff and it ROCKED! Now that busy season has kicked in and Brian has to stay at work late every night we don't get to hang out as much, so we loved it!
We started our day out at Deer Valley Ski resort where they set us up with FREE passes, and FREE equipment. Great start right! Then we had lunch with Deer Valley's CFO, who was so fun to chat with. Brian did great for practically his first time skiing ever. I loved being back on the mountain. I think God created snow with skiing in mind. It was also fun because my mom joined us, I figured she would be a much better teacher for B than me, and I had fun going down some harder runs with her.
Then we went straight home, showered, ate a couple bites of food, and headed to the JAZZ GAME. We played the nuggets who are doing really well and are ahead of us in the division. However, the jazz kept a good lead the whole game and won by 10.
Next, we went home, both of us pretty tired at this point and watched an episode of law and order before we had to leave for my soccer game that start just after midnight! You might be wondering who plays that late, but we even ran into some friends (Cory & Hilary) there. It ended up being a really fun game playing against some girls I knew and being very intense. My team ended up winning by one and so I was happy and very ready for bed!

When we finally got home we both crashed fast!

It was such a great day; not only because we got to do tons of fun stuff, but also because we were able to spend so much time together!

I just have to say I have some pretty awesome friends. I don't always get to see my friends, and sometimes I feel like I live too far away from so many of them, but I love it when we can get together! Tammy came in town this week so we decided we had to get together. It was so fun. Lindey and I made dinner under the direction of Tammy who was trying to take care of jacob, but still managed to help too. It was very tasty! We had lots of fun just chatting with everyone and catchin up. We'll have to do it again soon.

I am having a better than fantastic morning.

1. I slept in until 8:30 (which would normally put me off, but I was SO tired, I needed it) I haven't been able to sleep through a whole night for a while now. I have sleep anxiety because of my neighbors, I am terrified I am going to wake up to them fighting (which happens all to often), so I just dont sleep at all. Then if I do fall asleep the other neighbors' dog always barks and wakes me up! ugh. Anyhow it was so nice to get a good night of sleep!

2. I have a part time job starting in a couple months. I know you are thinking who hires out two months ahead, don't worry it's legit. Magazines work months ahead, so it will just be a little bit before I can get into it. :) YAY. More editing/writing. LOVE!

3. I just found a stash of TEA and CUSTARD I forgot about! I am the happiest girl in the world right now!

[side note. I am purging our apt of everything not necessary to live right now. It's like a major deep clean, which puts me in an even better mood. I am not sure where or when yet, but we are moving! ASAP]

Open invitation for anyone who would like to have stew for dinner tonight ... it should be done around 730. We have food for about 10 people! hahaha

ok so thats the end of the storie (yes I know it's spelled wrong), maybe I'll go back to the beginning.

I love to cook. I don't love to follow recipes. I also think cooking when you are hungry is a bad idea. I decided stew would be delish for dinner tonight ... so I started making it. I semi cooked the elk steak pieces, peeled and cut 7 potatoes, washed and cut lots of carrots, celery, and green beans, added a tiny bit of red pepper, and finally some seasoning, half an onion, and broth. When I had all the ingredients ready to put in my crockpot I realized I had way way too much food--again. Last time I made stew I was so excited to eat it I made tons. Apparently I didn't learn my lesson.

On the other hand, I bet it's going to be wonderfully tastey.

Monday seems to be every mission's P-day, which means every Monday I get two letters! I am lucky enough to have two brothers out in the mission field. Cammie is still in the MTC, so she isn't sending e-mails yet.

However, every time I read their weekly updates I can hear their voices and it makes me miss them. Jason just hit his one year mark and Adam is coming home in April. He should be coming home the first of April, but that got changed. Now we dont know when he will be home, but I am thinking it would be an awesome birthday present if he showed on my day!

Today I started reading a book about missionaries who gave everything they had to the Lord. It was inspiring to hear the stories of dedicated missionaries. The love the families had for the gospel when the Lord transfered their loved ones to His heavenly home was amazing! However, I am hoping they both get back here before going home permanently. LOVE YOU BOTH! PS the book is called The Transfer: Last Full Measure of Devotion.

Christmas Highlights!

Christmas week came and went and our festivities aren't even over yet. Since we've been having way too much fun to write about all of it I decided just to give some highlights.

Christmas day we were back and forth between his house and my house all day. Since Brian's family wants to kill his mom for taking too many pictures already, I didn't want to take any and get on their bad list. So I am not showing favorites by only having pictures of my fam. I just dont have any of his.

We love Christmas! We have been excited for this holiday season, so the first week of December we went out and got a tree, then headed to walmart to get some tree fixin's. We had tons of fun putting it up together, and I even let Brian put some ornaments on ... with my supervision of course. hahah JK! Then brian attempted to put the lights up on our balcony; however, we didn't have an extension cord so they didn't get put up until today. I decided to to mix multi colored lights with blue lights! haha
Anyhow, our little Christmas tree is so awesome and brings the Christmas spirit into our house. Right now it even has quite a few presents under it ... since we haven't given them all away yet. :)

Brian Warren Prete

I am pretty sure Warren and Janice failed to mention one slightly important recessive gene they both carry and that Brian picked up! I am positive Brian must be at least part bear because hibernating has turned into a hobby of his. While we were dating Brian went to bed at a normal person time, somewhere between 11-1. Now that we are married Brian goes to bed around 9 or 10 at the latest. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!??! this has got to be some type of joke. He acts like winter is setting in each night and if he doesn't get in bed in time he might not get his full "beauty rest." Believe me, 8 hours is probably too many and 10-11 hours is WAY too many hours to waste being bored asleep.
If I try and talk to him after said time this is what I get ...
So, what I am supposed to do alone from 9 until 12 when I start getting ready to sleep? I am thinking of getting a night job or something because now that I don't have anything to study after he zonks out ... I am quite bored. I am too far to just run over to my parents and hang out with marcus, who thankfully is normal like me and sleeps a reasonable amount of time each night.

*PS: proud wife moment. Tonight I made my very first crock pot stew and all who have tried it, loved it. hahaha even if I am the only one who has tasted of it's packed-with-potatoes-carrots-green beans-celery-and-elk goodness that can't be my fault. I am sure that if brian was awake right now eating with me he would love it too! The only problem is that I made enough for 9 people. :)

Tonight Brian tried to take me on a date, well he did take me on a date (which was a fun surprise) but it didn't turn out like he had planned or I anticipated. haha. However it was good for a laugh. I

We went to the first half of The Wedding Singer up at the U of U. Yes, only the first half, I was bored and thinking it was way to weird in the first 15 mins. Then at half time I finally decided to ask brian if he was liking it. I knew he really wanted to go to this because he bought the tickets 9 months ago! Luckily, he thought it was pretty strange (to be generous) as well. So we peaced out in a hurry.

Moral of this story, DONT GO SEE THE WEDDING SINGER at the U!!! It was awful, the acting was horrible, the script was super cheesy, and the choreography looked like a 5 year on crack got the job as director.

Brian and I always have fun at BYU football games. We've had tickets together since our first date in august 07, making this our third together. This season was no exception even though we missed a couple of games and watched BYU lose to TCU. We had fun at the games. This year we had Utah in our stadium. The first quarter of the game was pretty intense and then the second and third we kept them scorless. We shut down a little and they tied it up in the fourth. I was going crazy, close games are not good for my nerves and it was obvious we were a better team then utah even with max having an off game. However in the first OT we held them to a field goal and scored a touchdown to win it! loved it.

Shopping and Wrapping!

I went out on my first black friday morning. Don't get me wrong for a couple of years while I was working at Big 5 I had to be there by 4 am, so it's not like I haven't seen what happens, I had just never been on the shopping end until this year. haha and honestly, I didn't get a real black friday experience because we didn't go until 7:30. There were a few things that were already sold out, but I wasn't really all that worried them anyway. I just thought it would be fun to get up and get some fun gifts as well as Christmas decorations for our apt at AWESOME prices!
I love Christmas shopping, I do it all year long, in fact we were only shopping for a few family members and some friends. I just love the being able to find things for people that I think they will like! sometimes, I get it totally wrong, but it is still just so great to be giving to others!
Since I was so excited when we got home, while Brian took a nap I wrapped all of the Christmas Presents! I can't wait until we get our tree and can put some of them under it. Yipee. Christmas is just around the corner and we are excited for some new traditions to start!

Thanksgiving Activites.

The week of Thanksgiving, We peaced out of Provo and headed to Birdseye for a special Elk Hunt. My uncle John always comes out the week of thanksgiving to hunt with my dad, brothers, and me. We have tons of fun and love it. This year I John told me I had to get Buba (as he calls brian for some reason) out on the hunt with us. So I did as I was told and convinced Brian that one morning wouldn't kill him. We saw a bunch of dear, a few bulls, rode the 4-wheelers around, and I even managed to roll a 4-wheeler. It was a pretty fun morning if you ask me
He didn't love it, but he didn't hate it. I definitely have my work cut out trying to get him to want to do it every year with me, but I think I can pull it off, crazier things have happened :)

I also have to add, Brian looks pretty good in camo and bright orange! Since we don't have any pictures of it, you'll just have to take my word for it.

oh and I can't forget, I killed an elk for the first time! Technically it wasn't my elk, because john shot it and broke its leg before I got my shot off, but the it started to run and I sniped it right through the neck. AWESOME! I still have my tag to feel and you better believe I wont be forgetting my camera ever again!

The rest of Thanksgiving day and night was spent with Brian's families.
First we went over to the prete grandparents and hung out with a few cousins, I spent most of the time talking to his Aunt Terry. She is pretty funny. She even sat at the "young" table with all of us.
Then we went over to the stewart grandparents and saw a bunch of aunts and uncles. I had fun talking to grandpa stewart for quite a while and was able to learn a lot about their family and him. Brian pretty much just watched football with his uncle and played games while we were there. His favorite activties.
Our first thanksgiving married to each other was very fun, but by the end of the night we were ready to hit our pillows and sleep through the night!

Family Date Night: New Moon

So much has been going on the past couple of weeks I haven't even had a chance to write about it, so tonight I am going to try and catch up as much as possible! Brian and I are finally getting into a good routine and figuring out how to make both of our schedules work well together. Which means less stress and more play! wahoo. A few adventures will be posted on my own blog in case you were looking for a certain story here. :) Now lets get to the good stuff.

FAMIlY DATE NIGHT!

How it all started: Originally I had planned to be in Brentwood to see New Moon with one of my best friends, but because of busy schedules and newly married expenses I decided it would be best to stay home this year. Knowing Brian wouldn't really want to go with me I asked my brother, Aaron, who I read the first three books with! We had a blast reading them together, so I thought it would be very fitting for us to go together. Well, I told Brian I was going with Aaron and then he decided he really wanted to go to, and he even wanted to watch Twilight to get ready for it. Saturday night my family al went out to see it, Marcus' date took the picture because they didn't like that we were calling it date ... haha Marc's date was just one of his guy friends. After we teased them just a little bit they got all weird and wouldn't even sit by each other at dinner after it was pretty funny. hehe.

Anyhow, there were some things I loved about the movie and a few things I didn't really like. I think they made Rosealie look even less attractive in this movie, but I loved Alice! I wish the movie would've explained the wolf stuff a little better and what not. And the slow parts of the movie were just like the book, slow. This wasn't my favorite book, but the movie was pretty good (not as good twilight, but it's just going to get better from here). I really like how well the voultori dressed. Haha and I have to admit, jacob was much better looking in this movie than the last, the long hair was just gross! However I am still an Edward fan!

Brian and I have thermostat wars in our apartment because he likes it about 10 degrees hotter than I do. So one night he conceded defeat, since I normally open the window if I don't turn the heat down, and dressed like this for bed. I thought it was hilarious.

It is a dang good thing blondes are super cute, cause we aren't always the smartest creatures out there! And no 8,459 is not a random number. I give myself only one blonde moment a day all other things are blamed on something else, and since I was born a blonde that's one for everyday (plus a few here and there I can't write off to anything else).

This is just a typical story in my life and those of you who know me well will probably laugh the whole way through because I am sure you can see this happening step by step! hahaha. don't worry if you laugh I was laughing the whole time (almost) too.

Today I got done working early so on my way home I decided I was going to start my training for the marathon and regnar race. I got pumped and decided I would start off day one with a nice hill run, why not? I was excited!

so I got home at about 4 changed found brian's ipod and took off. Since I don't live in the safest city and I have deemed basically all areas surrounding my apt completely unsafe for running alone. I drove up to the temple, because temples just make me feel safer and decided I would just stay around there. I took my keys off my key chain and started my run. It was beautiful, not too cold, bright out side, and I was feeling pretty good.

Then about half way through my run my keys slipped out of my hand, I bent down to pick them up and I realized I was holding the keys to my apt, not the keys to my car. UGH! I just started laughing right there in the middle of me run. I am pretty sure the people who saw my wondered why some psycho girl was laughing while she was running. How on earth do I pull things like that off. Seriously I sometimes wonder how I survive my life. no joke.

You probably thought ya, you struggle. Weel, this is where the story gets worse or good if you enjoy my pain. haha. Since I didn't have my phone with me, and I don't know anyone around (except maybe hayley's mom, but since I haven't even met her yet I decided that might not be a good first impression) my only option was to run home. As previously stated I had already deemed the streets around my apt completely unsafe, so I decided I was going to find a new way home. I started running up a street (that's right up the whole way) until I finally realized where I was. I was going the wrong direction. I only recognized the street because I saw the condos where whit use to live. I couldn't believe I had run that far in the wrong direction). At this point the sun was just going behind the mountain and I wasn't about to explore the scary looking streets ahead in the dark, so I turned and ran back to where I started. (At this point I so wished I knew where Scott or Becky live, I knew both were close, but not where specifically)

It was inevitable I was going to have to run down my most feared street and in the dark none the less. The two lane road with NO side walk, NO shoulder, No enforced speed limit, and ONLY 1 or 2 feet from the white line to the end of the asphalt was ahead of me--I reminded myself that I believe what doesn't kill me makes me stronger--and I started down it. I was so happy when I saw the light by harmons glowing a bright red in front of me, I could feel the end getting closer! yay!

I finally arrived at my apt door with fingers so cold I could barely turn the key to get in. I immediately started drinking water, my body was craving some good liquid! My 3 mile run had turned into a 7-9 mile run in the cold, dark, scary, draper night. My body is still sore, I am so glad I don't have a game tomorrow!

baby fever. uh oh.

Brian has it, that's right Brian has BABY FEVER bad! All he talks about is wanting a little baby he can hold and watch sport center with. AWH. He goes off about how he just wants a little pal to sit on his lap and hang out with. "A cute little baby I can just hold and rock to sleep," and "let's just have one" are just some of his typical comments I hear everyday. It's driving me crazy! Especially, when I bring up the responsibilities, and not-so-fun jobs that come with babies and he says no our baby wont do that. Or I say do you really want one right now and he says no. He is living in a fantasy land.

Then, just to add to his obsession, sacrament meeting was the primary program today. Which means little kids in front of him for an hour and the little girl in a blue dress sitting on the front row had him from her first line. So, I got to hear, "I want one" and of course, "let's just have one." (as if we can just go pick one up from walmart and if we don't like it take it back later that day)

Someone please help him. let him borrow your child for a few hours to have it spit up on him and pee on him and then it might help him get over this disease!
Ya, one day when we are ready and can care for one we will get to assume all responsibilities with a smile, but for now baby fever is not good.

looks like I'm married

Literally. I finally got around to resizing my ring so I can start wearing it again and actually look like I am married. I was so excited today when he handed me my ring because it was so sparkly! I have the coolest ring ever! I love it. It is so perfect for me. Every time I look at it I can't figure out how I got so lucky to have such an amazing ring on my finger!
In fact this little ring has quite to story with it. YEARS ago, before I ever knew who brian was I was shopping for a mothers day present with my friend Dani. While she was looking for necklaces and what not I decided to peruse the diamond rings. I mostly saw the typical stuff, but then my eye caught this ring and I knew right then that that was the ring I wanted when I got married. I had this totally confirmed when I tried it on. (even center diamond less, the band was perfect). Later that night I called my brother and I told him I had found the perfect ring. he told me I should buy it then, but seeing as that my missionary had just left and I didn't want to get married EVER, I didn't. but the next several trips I took to brentwood all consisted of going to just look at the ring. Finally, when I knew I was never going to love any ring (band) more Dave secretly bought it (to avoid any rumors) and sent it out to utah where Aaron my brother held onto it until of course Brian decided he probably needed it. ;) Luckily, because of some sweet connections I have brian was able to get an amazing deal on the ring and spoil me way too much.
A perfect little ring to remind me that there is one person in my life that will always mean more to me than anything else.

An amazing night! I am not sure how to describe in words how happy I am tonight! However I will try, but mostly I think you just have to know me to understand why these two things are so amazing to me!

1. I stepped back onto the soccer field for the first time since the marriage. And for only the second time since I moved to London. I was having withdrawls from my driving force in life. Soccer is this part of me that motivates me to wake up everymorning and keep going strong. Its the reason I suck up the pain and keep going! The first time I heard the song "then" by brad paisley all I thought about was soccer ... it defined my relationship with the most amazing sport ever! During my bridals brian tried to take my soccer ball from me ... he lost that one, there are just some things in life that he just can't win. :)

2. My Yankees won their 27th world series tonight. YAY! for as long as I have been watching baseball I have loved watching Derek Jeter! He is one of my all time favorite athletes, so I was just so happy to see him holding that trophy. Also, I loved to see Pettite out there for the winning game! On my way back home some idiot radio announcer actually made this comment, "looks like the yankees beat the phillies tonight 7 to 3 and tomorrows game is at 7:57pm, humm thats a weird time." All I have to say to him is, "THERES NO GAME TOMORROW!" YAY!
You might be wondering why I am posting this on our blog and not mine. Well I told Brian that if the Yankees won the world series this year that our first son would be named Jeter Brian Prete and well who wouldn't want to be named after that awesome guy right there!

soccer, soccer ... WE love it!

Brian and I had a fun halloween week, parties, friends, and lots of fun, but I'll let him write about that later. :) MY favorite part of halloween was going to the REAL SALT LAKE game. With a few lucky breaks they made the play offs and only their first game was a home game. So, Brian made sure he gots tickets as early as he could so we would have awesome seats! ROW C SEAT 7 ... is where I watch the game from. It was awesome. I was a little sad that the game was not packed like it should've been, but I guess it was halloween. Anyhow we had so much fun and we even wore these ridiculous buckets on our heads as hats. lol. One of these days I am going to have buy Brian a real jersey and make him a real fan! :) oh and to make the game even better REAL beat the number one team right now! Hopefully, we can beat them at their places also to advance!

side note, the Yankees are up 3-1 in the series against the phillies! yay! I am thinking tonight could be the last game in the WORLD series... we'll see! GO YANKEES, and JETER!

All the things we didn't know about each other before we got m-worded.
*Brian thinks going to be bed at 10 pm is an acceptable time and then gets mad when I wake him up at 5.
*Sarie leaves her hair in the shower so every time I turn the water on a big hair ball floats up onto my feet and I have to pick up her hair
*Brian likes to wait until dinner is cold to get ready to eat
*Sarie has to have "her kitchen" absolutely perfect ... if I even put a bowl on the wrong shelf it gets moved immediately
*Brian cannot open a package the right way to save his life. I can't figure out why I keep buying the easy reseals when he cuts the other side.
*Sarie can't lay still at night ... at 2 am she will roll over and cuddle up to me waking me up and almost pushing me off the bed
* Brian keeps the apartment too hot. I have to get up in the middle of the night to turn on the AC just so I can sleep. Forget being able to sleep with more than one blanket. :( *Sarie cuts her toenails on the carpet! She claims that she picks them all up but I guarantee I'll find toenails in the carpet months from now.
*Brian is always trying to see exactly what I am doing while I cook and then asks me every single ingredient that is in it and how much. Just let me cook and then enjoy it.
*Sarie always has the door locked even during the middle of the day...it would be nice to be able to walk into my own house sometimes without a key. On that same note she is always closing every door in the house so I'm constantly opening doors to get into my room or bathroom.

Today I was working on putting together a few collages to put up here and I was so happy looking through all the pictures. I started to think about how amazing my wedding was! Seriously, I have never been to a more fantastic wedding. It was beautiful and everything other than adam not being there was perfect. The temple was heavenly, more than words can describe. My backyard was magical, I couldn't have dreamed up a better scene. I was surrounded by so many close friends and family I just felt so loved! And on top of having a gorgeous wedding, thanks to my parents, I had someone I love more than anything in life right next to me all day. Brian is so great and I am excited for our forever together! Brian told me that since I invited him to my wedding he was inviting me on his honeymoon. haha. He also informed that it was in fact "a pretty sweet honeymoon," which I already knew but he was so excited about it--it was cute!
What did we do? We went to Fort Lauderdale, FL and stayed in a fun resort. We had an AWESOME room/suite. We had several pools to choose from and of course beaches! We explored the area found some cool stuff. Then we went to the BAHAMAS! sweet! Then we went back to Florida and even went down to one of the florida keys ... ya it was an awesome vacation.

Brian officially turned 26 last week! He is getting old, But I still love him anyway :) For his birthday he wanted to go to the lonestar concert, so of course we did. It was so fun!
We were also able to celebrate his birthday along with Jayde's (Brian's brother's girlfriend). Tyler, Jayde, Brian, and I went out to tucanos and then walked around the gateway for a fun night of eating and relaxing. Happy Birthday babe!

I'm Back! After a summer away, I am quite happy to be back in America. I had a fantastic time in the UK, but as Dorthy said, "There's no place like home!" I had some major delays getting back and actually missed my original flight home, so I got home a day late. Brian picked me up and then took me to see "our apartment." While I was gone he found us a place to live, furnished it, and moved in. It was crazy to think that in less than a month I will be living there too, but it is cute and I think it will be a great starting place. Then we headed to my home, where my family was waiting for us! My puppy came running to the driveway when she heard my voice, and everyone else was pretty happy to have me back also. That was my welcome home ... now I'm onto planning and preparing for my/our wedding: so much to do, so little time. :)

This is a post to my wonderful fiancee who I have now not seen for almost a month. Tonight I went to an awesome Restless Heart and Collin Raye concert at the Scera Shell in Orem. I really like the music of Restless Heart and they have one love song called I'll Still Be Loving You that made me think a lot about Sarie and how much I miss her. The song was voted one of the top 100 love songs of all time and I love this song. The chorus of the song made me want to be with her so much and as we are getting married soon I hope our love will be just like the way the song describes it.

Ok, today has been a great sunday! With lots of crazy surprises ... surprise bridal shower thrown by my roomie and friends on my study abroad, Nikki, Kenzie, Mandie, Jenny, Jayci, maggie, and Tee.
They definitely surprised me and even once I walked in I still didn't know what was going on ... I thought they were playing a joke on me and I was waiting for them to tell me what it was. 25 people in a little flat provided the perfect environment for some fun times, lots of laughs, and weird looks! :)

So for the first time in almost two years Brian and I have not seen each other in two weeks. You might think two weeks is no big deal, that is exactly what I thought, but I have learned the hard way that being away from him for extended amounts of time is not on my list of things to do again. ;) I wasn't missing home very much until today when I realized I am still 5 weeks away from a good cuddle, and a warm hug.

PS. LONDON is AMAZING! I love it.

First of all let me start off by saying that Brian was supposed to write this post since this was HIS trip, but even after I uploaded all the pictures and put them in order for him, he didn't do it, so here I am writing it. shocker I know.
Anyhow, apparently since brian was younger he has always dreamed of going to Turner field and watching the braves play. Well his dreams came true. I guess his original plan was to go with his friend Cory, but then his friend got married and he fell in love with me, so his plans changed. Going with me is much better because then he gets his two favorite things in life at the same time :).
Monday night Brian and I flew to Tennessee and one of my best friends, Annita, picked us up, took us home and we got a great nights sleep before heading to Chattanooga tuesday morning to meet david and the youth in their ward to join them for hang gliding. Right after falling out of the sky the 4 of us (dave, Annita, Brian, and I) headed down to Atlanta. We stayed over night on tuesday after the first game where the braves beat the yankees (dang wang needs to stop pitching), but honestly I was glad they won because it made brian so happy, and since he did fly all the way across the country to see them, I thought it was good they could at least pull of a win.
Then we went to a sweet aquarium that I loved on wednesday before heading to the stauim for batting practise the second game, oh and I can't forget that we actaully took a tour of the staiudm (this was so fascinating ... if your name is Brian Warren Prete). This night the yankees won and all was right in the universe again, so after the game we all drove back to nashville, where we spent the rest of the week hanging out with my friends. We did some other really fun this but thats enough for now :)The first game, tuesday night, we got their right in time after a

While we were staying at my aunt's house she surprised us with our first fun wedding gift and a fun cake to celebrate. This was not just any cake it was amazing both in taste and design. It was our wedding colors and it had two hearts interlocking with our names in them. Cheesy I know and as you might know I love CHEESE! Oh and I did shove it in his face! lol, totally worth the HUGE mess I made.

This last weekend Brian and I went with my family to our family reunion. It was fun to see everyone, however, it would've been a lot more fun if I wasn't coughing my lungs out the whole time. stupid dentist sucked my throat dry and caused my throat to turn into sandpaper. Today is the first day I haven't cough yet. I started getting better when I started sleeping with my new humidifier. 3 cheers for humidifiers they rock! Even though I didn't feel good this whole trip it was great to be with my family and have Brian there. watching the lake.

THE LONG VERSION
For memorial day weekend, Brian and I went to LA to visit one of my best friends and the area he served his mission for the LDS chuch in. Friday and Saturday we had a blast hanging out with Kelsey, Daniel, and Kelsey's family. We were constantly on the go from one thing to the next; it was so fun, but very tiring. Then on sunday we went to a ward in San Pedro where Brian was able to see some friends he made while he was there. This was nice and church is always a great place to forget the rest of the world. After church we went to a park that was nice, we laid down a blanket and read to each other out of this marriage book (we figure since niether of us are experts on the matter we should do some studying). It has been so beneficial reading with him because we are able to talk about concerns we have as the book brings them up. it's great! so after reading we took a little cat nap. Next event was to go to a park next the ocean that he loved to visit because they could go down on the rocks right next to the ocean. we walked around just admiring the great view that over looked the ocean. so pretty.
Then we decided to go up on to this hill over looking everything. We were goofing around taking fun pictures and just laughing together (one of my favorite things in the world). For a minute we were just standing there he was behind me with his arms wrapped around me (heaven... I love cuddling).
THEN he stepped back and I when I turned around he was down on one knee holding a ring in his hand.
He asked me to marry him and I said yes. I was so excited it was such an amazing feeling! I honestly never really like the idea of getting married, but when I said yes I was so happy! so I asked him, "why do you wanna marry me anyway?" and he said well thats the easy part and then he started his list of reasons why ... so these are the reasons (I think they are cute).

so two cool things about this place are 1. it was a fun place for brian on his mission and 2. I once asked him how much he loves me and he told me as much as the pacific ocean, so when he proposed I was looking at it and its pretty big so I guess that means he loves me a lot :) more cheese, yes I know.
